Golf – Solheim Cup
The European team overcame the previous day’s deficit to tie 8-8 with the US team at the Solheim cup outing here this Sunday.
Though the European team was down 4 ½ to 3 ½ down they steadied their standings and brought up the score to a decent 6 to 6.
The first boost of the day was in the form of Sophie Gustafson and Janice Moodie when the defeated Paula Creamer and Julie Inkster 4 & 3 during the afternoons match.
The second much needed thrust came when Gwladys and Becky of Europe soundly thrashed the American pair 5 and 4 thereby keeping Gwladys wining spree intact as 3-0-0.
Though these two entered this tournament with point ranking of 3 and ½ respectively, they have moved up and have a total point collection amounting to 5 points.
Thus with a superb show of game play and strategy, the European team went onto a score of 18 holes finishing the day with an 8-8 tie.
