Manchester United that Wigan 5-0
Friday, November 13th, 2009It was a splendid day on the field for Sir Alex Fergusson’s boys as they ripped the Wigan defense to clinch a one sided 5-0 win over them.
The score sheet was opened by Wayne Rooney as he scored the first as well as the second goal of this match with superb control and accuracy. No wonder he is known as the striker with finesse.
Though he match did not at all seem to be in the custody of Wigan they did try to make efforts to score, however their efforts were thwarted by a very resilient defence line that let no outsiders into their fortress compound.
The first half was spent with both teams testing each other’s strengths and weaknesses and it almost looked like a game of chess, with only the playing conditions changed. Come the second half and Rooney stole the show right from the outset. Scoring the 1st as well as the 2nd goals of the match he also achieved the joy and honor for scoring 100+ goals during his tenure.
