Baseball gets its home
Thursday, October 30th, 2008
New York Yankees have set sights on playing their next few matches in the confines of their home ground now that it has been built up to the specifications of the baseball federation.
Built at a cost of around $1 billion the 60,000 seat stadium is home to almost all of the baseball fraternity ranging from Babe Ruth to captain Derek Jeter.
Time to change, ‘Change we need’, are some of the many phrases and slogans that are being chanted by some the diehard Yankee fans.
The new stadium has been built as a tribute to the game of baseball.
Plush locker rooms, state of the art facilities and amenities are to be looked out for when this stadium is thrown open to the public.
The halls of fame stretching like a tunnel in a glacier is home to memorabilia related to baseball from all over the world. Pinstripes and baseball bats that were used by legendary figures now repose in niches that have been specially made for them. Certainly a splendid tribute towards a game that is closely followed by millions worldwide.
